esy-6Emeril Lagasse Foundation grants to 501(c)3 designated non-profit organizations that provide educational programs, life skills development, culinary training and cultural enrichment for children in the cities where Emeril’s Restaurants operate, which include New Orleans, Las Vegas, Miami and Orlando.

In Fall 2008, Emeril’s Culinary Center at St. Michael Special School opened, giving special needs students a place to learn essential life skills. Also, a new Edible Kitchen and Cafeteria was built Summer 2009 to complement the recently completed Outdoor Classroom with a living “green” roof and walls at the Edible Schoolyard New Orleans, based on Chef Alice Waters’ model in Berkeley. New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) is creating a four year culinary arts curriculum to be implemented soon. Also, the Foundation is working to improve access to healthy foods for schoolchildren throught recent grants to Second Harvest, Three Square and Liberty’s Kitchen.
